Fall into Organization: 7 Steps to Prepare Your Home for the Cozy Season
As the crisp air begins to settle in and the days grow shorter, there’s something incredibly comforting about transitioning our homes to reflect the cozy vibes of fall.
But before we dive into pumpkin-spice and everything nice, let’s take a moment to set up your home for the season ahead.
Whether you’re a busy mom juggling a million things or a woman wanting to make your space a sanctuary, these seven steps will help you organize your home and embrace the beauty of fall.
How to Say Good-bye to Summer
Ok, so nobody panic! Summer is not ending today. But...I do want you to start thinking about how you want to say goodbye to your summer season.
Maybe this was an epic summer for you. You traveled to some fun places, snuck in some naps, and overall had a delightful time. The stars just seemed align this year.
Or...maybe this was a really hard summer for you. The kids were complaining or fighting most the time.
You felt like you spent a fortune on camps but still got zero time to yourself. In all honesty, you are just barely making it to August.
Regardless of how your summer has been, like anything in life, it's important to mark the end of a season so you can welcome the next.
In our home, we call it "Closing Ceremonies".
The “Fix It” List
Do you have a "Fix It" list?
I was talking with one of my clients (I have the best ones!) and we were trying to reduce her mental load when it comes to managing the household.
We created a zone system for the family's evening routine but there are those pesky to-do's that aren't part of her weekly rhythm.
So I suggested a "Fix It" list.
This is a running list of items that need to be replaced, fixed, or outsourced.
6 Simple Tech Boundaries for Your Family
Mom, can I watch TV?
Anyone else hear this question 100x a day? I was an 80's kid and didn't grow up with tons of technology competing for my attention. We played outside a lot and had to find ways to overcome boredom.
But that's not the world we are raising our children in.
In today's digital age, navigating technology can be a challenge, especially when it comes to finding a healthy balance for the whole family.
Establishing tech boundaries is crucial to ensure quality time, meaningful connections, and a well-rounded family life.
Best Summer Spots to Visit in Texas

Happy travels!
Your Summer Family Movie List
"So what movie are we watching tonight?"
This is such a loaded question in our house!
And typically leads to a solid 15 minute back-and-forth negotiation between my boys on which movie they should watch for movie night.
Family movie nights are one of my favorite traditions we adopted during the pandemic.
My least favorite part is deciding on the movie. 😂 Can you relate?
Your Go-to Family List to Get Ready for Summer
You might still be nursing your "Maycember" hangover, so today I thought I'd drop some practical tips to help you get prepped and prepared for all your summer adventures, whether in-town or on the road. Read on…
It’s not about an Instagram-Worthy Home
I'm going to let you in on a little secret..
My home gets messy. *gasp*
Yup, I said it!
There are socks and shoes thrown haphazardly on the bench, our craft table is usually covered in Legos, and there are always (and I mean always) napkins scattered on the floor because my dear, sweet pup, Scout is constantly pulling them off our dining room table.
I think we all know deep down that no one's home looks Instagram-perfect all the time.
Like that's impossible.
But even equipped with that knowledge, we still hold ourselves to that perfectionist standard.
My Favorites: Essentials for a Busy Mom
Confession: I’m an over-sharer.
One of the many things I've learned as a mom is to leverage other women's wisdom.
Y'all are some of the most resourceful humans on the planet.
I don't know any other group of people that will spend countless hours on research, ask hundreds of questions, or create so many pro/cons lists other than maybe scientists and engineers...but I think some of y'all have them beat.
Over the past few years, I've discovered I'm an over-sharer.
I love sharing resources I come across with other moms and friends. So much so, I've now trained myself to make sure I ask permission before sharing. Mainly because I don't want to come across as annoying or overwhelm anyone with too many resources.
Your Simple Spring Cleaning Checklist
It's one of my favorite times of year here in Texas. The bluebonnets are in full bloom and you can catch glimpses of all the butterflies dancing among the wildflowers.
What do you love about this season?
One of the other things I love about spring, is the rhythm of renewal or reset. This gives us a chance to shake off the winter blues and welcome a lighter energy into our homes and lives.
5 Tips to Make Kid’s Chore More Fun
As a fellow busy mom, I know how challenging it can be to keep up with household chores while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood and work.
Today, I want to share some creative ways to manage household chores with your family by making it a more collaborative and enjoyable process for everyone.
Why community is essential for moms
“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” - John Muir
Ponder that for a minute. It’s a powerful visual that explains our innate need for connection. I absolutely believe we were made for connection and there are so many ways our brains and body reinforce this.
Numerous studies have shown that social relationships have a significant impact on our mental and physical well-being.
What habits are you building?
Have you ever wondered what's the difference between goals and habits? Don't they kind of feel like the same thing? By definition, goals are specific, measurable targets we aim to achieve, while habits are the daily actions and routines that support these goals.
To build lasting change, I believe there are three main areas to focus on when creating habits or rhythms in your life: Your Home, Your Head and Your Heart.
What are your things costing you?
Did you know the average home contains 300,000 items?
Isn't that bananas? Think about that for a minute. Think of the amount of energy it takes to keep track of, store, and tidy all that stuff. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
I bring this up not to induce shame, but awareness.
I will be the first to raise my hand that I still struggle managing all the things in our home. As busy moms, sometimes all we have time and energy for is to feed, dress, and bathe our people. Amen?
Rediscover Your Joy as a Mom
Do you ever find yourself so consumed with the demands of motherhood that you've lost touch with your own passions and interests?
This is so easy to do, especially in those early years of motherhood.
Well it's time to reconnect with yourself and rediscover what brings you joy. I wanted to share some tips and ideas to help you discover new hobbies or rekindle old ones, allowing you to nurture your own growth and happiness.
New Year, New Goals!
It's that time of year! New year, new goals!
Everyone loves a fresh start, the buzz and hope in the air is addictive, isn't it? But did you know 23% of people quit their New Year's Resolutions after the first week and 43% quit by the end of this month?
Whether you're a fan of New Year's Resolutions or not, one of the simplest systems I've found are SMART goals. This framework is designed to make your objectives clear, actionable, and most importantly attainable.
Reflecting on Your Year
As we step into a new year, it's the perfect time for reflection and celebration. Yet, amidst the busyness of our daily lives (and this season), finding moments for reflection can feel like a challenge.
It's tough to carve out time for ourselves when our days are filled to the brim. And it's not just making time for reflection, but also making the space to sift through our emotions as we reflect the past year.
But creating a habit of reflection doesn't have to be overwhelming.
