What If You Invited God Into Your Day?

So much of our days are spent doing.

But when I started thinking about the habit of work, I didn’t think about productivity.

I didn’t think about routines.
Or time management.
Or getting more done.

Instead, I kept coming back to posture.

Work Looks Different In Every Season

For some, it’s a full-time job.
For others, part-time work.
For many, it’s caring for children, running a home, managing the unseen responsibilities of daily life.

And for many women, it’s also pouring into their community — volunteering at school, serving at church, showing up for friends, and giving their time in meaningful ways.

But no matter what our work looks like, it often carries expectations.

Things we want to get done.
Responsibilities we’re holding.
Plans for how the day should go.

And without even realizing it, we grip those things tightly.

We want the day to unfold a certain way.
We want to get everything done.
We want to do it well.

But when we carry our work this way, something begins to drain.

Our energy.
Our peace.
And often, our joy.

And joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit.

I don’t believe the Lord designed our work to feel joyless.

Even in full days.
Even in busy seasons.
Even in the ordinary responsibilities.

I think He invites us to experience Him in our work — not just outside of it.

When The Day Feels Like Too Much

There are plenty of conversations about how to get more done.

But this isn’t really about that.

Because you can check off twenty things and still feel drained.
You can finish your list and still feel anxious.
You can get everything done and still end the day feeling depleted.

The deeper question isn’t just what we’re doing.

It’s how we’re moving through our day.

Who’s In The Driver’s Seat?

Before I begin my day, I pause.

Here’s what I have planned, Lord.
But I hold it open-handed.

And in many ways, it feels like shifting seats.

Instead of gripping control, I’m inviting God to lead.

And when I begin the day this way, something shifts.

I’m not rushing as much.
I’m more aware of Him.
The day feels lighter.

A Simple Invitation

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
— Colossians 3:23

Our work isn’t about striving or proving.

It’s about who we’re walking with.

And when we begin to see it that way, everything changes.

So my challenge for you is to think about how different your day could feel if you invited God not just into your quiet time, but your whole day?
